The generation of new knowledge is a critical mission for academic health centers. Indeed, their research enterprises produce much of the world’s biomedical and clinical literature. These case studies offer frameworks for best practices that enhance the biomedical enterprise while ensuring a well-balanced and societal-relevant research mission.
