The impact of the pandemic on academic health centers and the groundbreaking research they do every day will continue in 2022 and beyond. Academic health centers continue to lead in medical breakthroughs and innovative discoveries, while experiencing changing systems and processes. The 2021 AAHC Research Meeting, themed Leveraging Lessons of the Pandemic to Accelerate Discovery, focused on experiences and lessons learned during the pandemic and how academic health centers are accelerating discovery going forward. 

Sessions held included an NIH update on ARPA-H, peer discussion on the reimagining of clinical trials, and how to measure the impact of academic research in the post-COVID world. 

NOTE: The December 10, 2021 session on Global Collaboration and Research Partnerships was POSTPONED to January 25, 2022 11:00am ET.
