Historically, research administration and compliance in many academic health centers was decentralized and uncoordinated, which led to duplication of staff and inconsistent policies and protocols across the institution as a whole.
This was especially true with respect to clinical trials, where compliance was uneven and researchers frequently failed to capture available reimbursement for routine care provided in the course of a trial.
AAHC responded to this concern by developing a Clinical Trials Administration Toolkit, which provides checklists for assessing current performance and establishes best practices integration and coordination of essential processes and protocols.
