Join us at this third meeting of AAHC International™.  Following two highly successful meetings, previously held in Singapore and Amsterdam, this meeting offers opportunities to share new information, create networking and program development opportunities among institutions, and facilitate membership in AAHC International.  As with our other AAHC International™ meetings, the theme will be centered on the critical role of academic health centers in healthcare, and especially on the subject of aligning the academic and clinical missions - a challenge our organizations are facing in every country.  The meeting will be conducted in English.  More information will be forthcoming.  The deadline to register for this meeting is Friday, May 7th.  Register now!

CANCELLATION/SUBSTITUTION POLICY:
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to afranks@aahcdc.org or via fax to (202) 265-7514, no later than Friday, April 23, 2010.  Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date.  Registration fees, less a $25 administrative fee will be refunded for any cancellations received prior to Friday, April 23, 2010.  Registration forms received after Friday, April 23, 2010, are non-refundable.  There is no charge for substitutions.  No-shows will not be refunded.

São Paulo, Brazil International Airport (GRU) is located approximately 40 miles from the hotel.  
 
Taxis are available at the Airport and the one-way fare from the Airport to the Hotel is approximately 85,00 Reais - approx. US$ 50.00.
 
Special Information for U.S. Citizens Traveling to Brazil:
A passport and visa are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Brazil for any purpose.  Brazilian visas must be obtained in advance from the Brazilian Embassy or consulate nearest to the traveler's place of residence.  There are no "airport visas" and immigration authorities will refuse entry to Brazil to anyone not possessing a valid visa.  All Brazilian visas, regardless of the length of validity, must initially be used within 90 days of the issuance date or will no longer be valid.  
 
Americans reentering Brazil must be able to show an entry stamp in their passport proving that the visa was issued within 90 days; otherwise they will not be allowed reentry.   Immigration authorities will not allow entry into Brazil without a valid visa.  The U.S. Government cannot assist travelers who arrive in Brazil without proper documentation. 
 
Additionally, travelers who have recently visited certain countries, including most other Latin American countries, may be required to present an inoculation card indicating they had a yellow fever inoculation or they may not be allowed to board the plane or enter the country.
