Emerging Issues in Challenging Times
The state of the economy has forced AAHC member institutions to consider, and in some cases implement, significant changes in their workforce and human resource strategies, raising numerous legal issues in the process. At the same time, policymakers have imposed significant new legal requirements in recent HITECH and FERA legislation. Attend the Legal Counsel Spring Meeting, April 22-23, 2010, and share your experiences navigating and managing these and other emerging legal issues and liability risks.
Registration for this meeting is now open and the agenda will follow shortly.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to afranks@aahcdc.org or via fax to (202) 265-7514 no later than Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date. Registration fees, less a $45 administrative fee will be refunded for any cancellations received prior to Tuesday, March 23, 2010. There are no refunds for forms received after Tuesday, March 23, 2010. There is no charge for substitutions. No-shows will not be refunded.

GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION
The meeting will be held at the AAHC Office located at 1400 16th Street, NW, Suite 720, Washington, DC.
The dress code for the meeting is business casual. Registration will open at 8:30 am on Thursday, April 22nd and the meeting will begin at 9:00 am. The meeting will conclude on Friday, April 23rd at 12:00 noon. Please arrange your travel accordingly.

AAHC Room Rate: $239 Single/$259 Double Occupancy
Parking fee: $26 USD daily We have arranged for a block of rooms near our offices (1 ½ blocks away) at the Beacon Hotel. Please contact the hotel directly at (800) 821-4367 for reservations assistance and reference the AAHC LEGAL COUNSEL MEETING. We recommend making your reservations for accommodations early to guarantee your room at the discounted AAHC rate of $239 single/$259 double (excluding tax).
The Hotel Reservation Cut-off Date is Tuesday, March 23, 2010. However, we cannot guarantee that our block of rooms will not sell out prior to this date-therefore, early reservations are strongly recommended.
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m. Should you arrive early; the hotel will make every attempt to accommodate you. However, if a room is not available at that time the hotel will store your luggage until your room is available.
All cancellations of hotel reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of the arrival date or the AAHC rate will apply. Contact the hotel directly with reservation cancellations at (800) 821-4367.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Ronald Regan National Airport is located about 7 miles from the Beacon Hotel. Taxis are available at the airport and the one way fare from the airport to the Beacon Hotel is approximately $20.00.
SuperShuttle door-to-door service is also available at the Ronald Regan National Airport. Shuttles operate on a shared ride-on demand basis. For information, call 1-800-BLUEVAN or go to www.supershuttle.com. Upon arrival to Ronald Regan National Airport proceed to the outside curb and contact the SuperShuttle representative. After hours, call 1-800-258-3826 and press 1 for dispatch or 2 for reservations.
If you would like to take the subway from Reagan National Airport, Metrorail can be accessed from Terminal B and C by using either of two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level which connect directly to the station. The closest stop to the Beacon hotel is Dupont Circle or Farragut North (Red Line)
