The AAHCI Aligned Institutional Mission (AIM) Program™ focuses on improving the alignment of academic health centers and focuses on five core components: mission alignment, internal accountability, external accountability, interprofessional education and practice, and knowledge sharing. This webinar explored the topic of mission alignment and how the three pillars of an academic health center– education, research, and patient care – inform one another and make each other more effective. The speakers discussed important lessons learned in mission alignment, on topics such as organizational structure and leadership authority, and informed and socially responsive governance. They discussed how the AIM Program™ works with sites to enhance alignment, and findings thus far in the program.
