The Association of Academic Health Centers – in partnership with Georgetown University Medical Center; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center; Northeast Ohio Medical University; the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Florida International University; the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center; and The University of Texas System – is pleased to announce a third national conference of selected leaders on Academic Health Centers and the Social Determinants of Health
. The meeting will be held March 9-11, 2014 at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center, on the Georgetown University Campus, in Washington, DC.
The meeting program will further examine the role of academic health centers in addressing the social determinants of health, including identifying policy barriers, encouraging interprofessional collaboration and education, convening other groups active on the issue, and how to better incorporate the social determinants of health in the education of health professionals. In addition to plenary sessions, the meeting program will include two separate tracks, one for senior leaders and administrators, and another for frontline workers.
