The 2nd Asia Pacific Meeting of AAHC International™, was held February 17-18, 2011, at the Swiss-Grand Resort & Spa in Sydney, Australia. Building on the remarkable success of our first Asia-Pacific meeting held in Singapore, this meeting was co-sponsored by The University of New South Wales and involved a wide range of attendees from Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
As with our other AAHC International meetings, the theme was centered on the critical role of academic health centers in healthcare, and especially on the subject of aligning the academic and clinical missions – a challenge our organizations are facing in every country. In addition to institutions from the Asia-Pacific region, key leaders from other parts of the world were invited as well. The program included several blocks of sessions, with opportunities for participating institutions to present the challenges and opportunities they are facing.
